Montrose original, Niko Niko’s, is getting closer to opening another branch of the restaurant out West. Owner Dimitri Fetokakis told the Houston Chronicle that the location at Interstate 10 and Beltway 8 should be welcoming guests by early next year.

This will be the second stand-alone location outside of its flagship restaurant at 2520 Montrose, and its fourth location overall (they first expanded to a small location in Market Square Park Downtown, then inside an H-E-B in Pearland).

Fetokakis explained to the Montrose District in a previous story that his family moved from Montrose into the Bunker Hill area of Houston, and were looking to open something in that part of town. An opportunity presented itself, and the rest — as they say — is history.

The 6,000-square-foot location will have a large bakery, a larger kitchen and an expanded menu.
