Halloween has come and gone, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here soon. Not to rush into things, but now would be a good time to put together some ideas for the annual Holiday Decorating Contest. The deadline to register is December 11 and winners will be announced on December 18th at the Montrose District Mixer at Rivas from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Judges will look for themes, originality, creativity, lighting, use of space and overall design. Every business within the Montrose District boundaries are eligible for the prizes of $500 for first, $250 for 2nd, $150 for most creative and of course the ultimate bragging rights. Last year there were 15 nominations and winners were Rivas in 3rd, Bobbitt Glass in 2nd and Angie Dinh, DDS in 1st.
