Pappa Charlies Brings Quality ‘Cue to Montrose

By | August 13, 2014

Barbecue hound and Culturemap writer Eric Sandler is hot on the smoke trail of some of Montrose’s tastiest barbecue, and it’s found in a surprising place. On Saturdays and Sundays at Jackson’s Watering Hole (1205 Richmond Ave.), the Pappa Charlies barbecue trailer parks and serves up some of the best brisket and ribs in the city.

Pitmaster and founder Wesley Jurena, a veteran and avid barbecue competitor, began selling his smoked meats after an unexpected layoff last year and hasn’t looked back. Montrose residents are now reaping the benefit.
