Something for everyone on your list and you don’t even have to leave your ‘hood. Here’s our round up. Sound off on who we missed in the comments.

For the …

Support local shops like Soundwaves in Montrose

Music Snobs

Montrose is the center of Houston’s local and live music scene. There is such a thing as non-digital music. And there are people who prefer to collect and listen to their music on vinyl. For rare finds and amazing people, check out Soundwaves, Sound Exchange and Half Price Books.
*Soundwaves is also a great stop for the sandal obsessed with their great selection of Reef footwear and surf accessories.

Design Star

Have the next Nate Berkus on your list? Swing by Native Citizen for cozy finds and redone furniture treasures to compliment any home.

Biker

Montrose is home to a plethora of bike shops. What can we say, we’re a biking bunch. Splurge on a custom ride at Fletcher Bike Studio – probably the friendliest guys around – where everything is on sale today [Black Friday]. Or swing by Houston Bicycle Co for some essential stocking stuffer accessories.

Spend $200, Get $100 at Montrose shopsAlways trendy

Wish Warehouse and Duo are holding a Black Friday Event with their $100 Sale! Pick out $200 and only spend $100 on merchandise! We recommend starting with these colorful, chunky necklaces at Wish sure to make a statement. Of course, anything in store makes for a great gift for the fashionista in your life.

Guyz N Style specializes in unique men’s fashion with party shirts, European cut jeans, statement shoes and accessories.

Dapper Man

Settlement Goods & Design is the spot for the dapper man on your list. We recommend White Horse Trading Co. pocket squares and ties. Everything is made in the U.S.A.

Urbanite

My new obsession [yes, I’m late to the game], is the fav commuter accessory: TimBuk2 bag. Crazy customizable and super durable, you don’t have to order them online, check them out at local e-bike shop, Revolution E Bikes.

Oenophile or Craft Beer Lover

You don’t have to mosey to Midtown for your oenophile or craft beer lover. Stop by Discount Spec’s Warehouse on Westheimer to pick a bottle [or two] for those holiday hostesses.

The Pampered

Etheria Spa offers gift certificates. Treat the lady in your life to a massage or pedicure.

Montrose favorite Guadalupana serves cinnamon coffee Locally Caffeinated

Coffee lovers will swoon when you stuff their stocking with a bag from local fav La Guadalupana.

The Photogenic

A picture is worth a thousand words. Give local photographer Tom Parker a shout and he can get you a gift certificate for family or friend portraits. See his work on his website.

As one of the Two new Business Ambassador’s assigned to the
Montrose District, we now have several new stops to add to
    the shop local idea.
    1) Southside Espresso coffee behind UCHI @ 904 C Westheimer
    2) Brittany and Company a newly opened Antique showcased jewelry store located at 3611 Montrose Blvd

Hope to see if we can promote the SHOP LOCAL idea even harder for the 2013 Season with a Blast maybe in the 4th
quarter News letter and or even maybe have a buy in with bars and restaurants to Shop Local !! starting in October
by attaching to customer bills flyers of local shops
