Nicole Longnecker Gallery presents PrintTX 2015, an exhibition of juried art, held during PrintHOUSTON 2015, June 6 – July 3, 2015. The opening reception is Saturday, June 6 from 5pm – 8pm preceded by an opening day Gallery Stroll from 11am – 5pm.

Additionally, on Thursday, June 11 from 6pm – 8pm, we will present: Gallery Talk with Dena M. Woodall, Ph.D. Dena Woodall is Associate Curator, Prints and Drawings, at the Museum of Fine Art, Houston. The topic is a discussion about the direction of contemporary printmaking.

Also, the PrintTX 2015 Juror’s Talk and Awards will happen on Sunday, June 28 at 1:30pm featuring juror, Karen Kunc. Top prizes will be awarded and many of the artists will be attending. The public is welcome.

In PrintTX 2015, Nicole Longnecker Gallery showcases the juried works of Texas artists. Work varies from lithography, relief, intaglio, monotype, or serigraphy.

PrintTX 2015 is the major exhibition of PrintHouston, the annual summer-long celebration of original prints, the artists who create them, and the people who collect them.

PrintMatters is a Houston-based arts organization whose mission is to promote traditional and non-traditional printmaking, encourage print collecting, and facilitate the professional growth of their members. The PrintTX 2015 exhibition chair is Cathie Kayser, a founding member of PrintMatters.

This year’s juror Karen Kunc lives and works in Avoca, Nebraska. Her prints have been exhibited and collected by numerous museums including the National Museum of Art at the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, and the J. Paul Getty Museum, LA, along with a long list of corporations and private collectors. Her website is www.karen-kunc.com.
