The newly remodeled Briar Club was the scene for a fun and tasty event featuring three courses with wine pairings.

KHOU meteorologist Chita Johnson was the gracious emcee for an evening that included dancing to the Mack Hayes Duo and the Pleazures, a doo wop trio with great harmonies, silent and live auctions, and a wine pull.

Guests were greeted by a pair of junior ambassadors in their school uniforms and regaled with a moving personal account by Jeremy Peaches, a scholarship recipient. One of the evening’s special guests, Armando Rodriguez, spoke of the ongoing relationship between Harris County Department of Education Head Start students and the Assistance League of Houston.

All in all the evening was a success both in the revenues raised for the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Houston and the enjoyment of the attendees. Congratulations to the event chairs Josie Ochoa, Mary Jane Casimir, Rajada Fleming, and Linda Hall, along with the many committee members.
