Stone’s Throw is the Latest Cocktail bar to Open in the Neighborhood

The cocktail quotient in Montrose just got a little higher. In addition to hotspots like Anvil, Rosemont Social Club, Poison Girl and more, is the brand new Stone’s Throw from Shawn Bermudez and Hunter Montgomery.

The neighborhood’s newest cocktail lounge at 1417 Westheimer Road is two stories of fun featuring high ceilings and a massive 17-foot bar; all housed in a former beauty supply store. A 4-8 p.m. happy hour features drinks ranging from $4-$7 every day.

House cocktails like the Dark and Stormy pair dark rum with lime juice and homemade ginger beer while drinks like the Ryeberry with its rye whiskey, Campari, sweet vermouth, blackberries and peach bitters pack a punch. Speaking of punch, it will be a mainstay of the bar starting at $7 glass, $38 for a half-bowl or $68 for a full bowl. Beer and wine are also options.

Stone’s Throw is open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
