It’s time for Zine Fest Houston 2015, which will once again be descending on The Printing Museum for the day, celebrating Houston’s diverse creators, artists and voices! DIY will never die!
More than 70 tablers will be exhibiting their creative projects this year, as we transform the museum into a bustling zine marketplace and exhibition hall.
Programming scheduled during the day includes: a conversation with People of Color Zine Project (POCZP), a panel discussion about event organizing featuring comic artist and illustrator Inés Estrada, Randy Guthmiller of Shapes Zines and Dallas Zine Party and Chris “Uncle Staple” Nicholas of Staple! Independent Media Expo, and a special performance of Good Evening with Conner and Billy by the comedic art collective, MicroSatan.
In addition, there will be raffles, demos in the Bookbinding Studio by Lee Steiner of Domestic Papers, and a zine workshop and scavenger hunt for kids and teens!
The annual Zine Fest Houston event will be at The Printing Museum (1324 W. Clay, Houston, TX 77019) on Saturday, October 17 from 2-8pm. Zine Fest Houston 2015 is open to the public free of charge and all ages are welcome.
Celebrations will continue at the Zine Fest Houston after party starting around 9pm at The Summit (3536 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003) over in the Eastside.
Join us for Zine Fest Houston at The Printing Museum and then join in the revelry at The Summit for drinks and dancing!
Zine Fest Houston is a local non-profit organization and an annual event dedicated to promoting zines, mini-comics, and other forms of small press, alternative, underground DIY media and art. It is also a grassroots attempt to build the local zine, DIY, and alternative media scenes and form networks with media creators in other areas. The goal of the event is for attendees to discover new zines and be inspired to create their own DIY art and media projects.
