This is the Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) 39th Annual International Art Exhibition for water-media. Across the globe artists have submitted their work and we have narrowed down the top 100 to show in our gallery.

The gallery exhibition runs from March 6 until March 31st. The juror’s demo, Anne Abgott, is Sunday, March 6, from 2-3:30pm. The opening reception and awards ceremony is March 6, 4-6pm at the WAS-H.  The Art Lovers Reception is Tuesday, March 8, 5:30-7:30pm.

Please come and see what new techniques, styles, and ideas artists have from all over the world and meet local water-media based artists!.

Bring friends, the event is free!

WAS-H welcomes our 39th Annual International Exhibition Juror Anne Abgott, AWS, NWS, who will visit us in March 2016. During her stay, not only will Ms. Abgott select the top award winning paintings for the exhibition but will also conduct a free painting demo and WAS-H’s Spring 2016 major workshop at our beautiful WAS-H gallery classroom.

For this year’s exhibition, in addition to the obvious categories of composition, design, and skillful handling of watermedia, Ms. Abgott has chosen paintings that have a wow factor and are fresh and thought provoking.

Viewers of the exhibition will see a full range of values – two against three, transparent against opaque – and brilliant use of color and light. It will be a wonderful display of colorful and skillfully crafted paintings from many different regions, representing many different artistic styles and subjects. WAS-H is excited to share this beautiful exhibit with our members and Houston art lovers.
