The Axiom Quartet is a dynamic and exciting music group making strides in the vibrant cultural life of Houston and beyond. It is a non-profit organization with strong mission of sharing the experience of chamber music throughout the Houston community.
Through their various concert experiences Axiom Quartet has performed a variety of works from J.S. Bach, Mozart and Beethoven through Ravel and Shostakovich to Philip Glass and Cole Porter. The group experiments with bringing their music to unconventional venues as well as traditional concert halls.
The quartet was recently announced The String Quartet-in-Residence for the Music Preparatory School at the University of St. Thomas. The group hosts regular concert series at the University’s Cullen Hall.
Musicians of the ensemble have all garnered accolades for their solo, chamber and orchestral skills and attended the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. They have performed with the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Ballet, Mercury Baroque, Musiqa and many other venues in Houston and beyond, and can be heard on the Dux and Deutsche Grammophon labels.
