McGonigel’s Mucky Duck presents Sister C.
Sister C (sisters Cirby, Carli and Celbi Manchaca) is made in Texas and influenced by every genre of music you can imagine. Growing up in a household where recordings by Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Merle Haggard and both Georges (Jones and Strait) were often followed by recordings of Ray Charles, Stevie Ray or the Rolling Stones, with a healthy dash of blues, jazz and zydeco sprinkled in, it’s not surprising that the band is setting its own pace and creating its own unique style.
The sisters’ love of every type of music from classic rock to traditional country and sultry blues to contemporary pop led tp writing their own songs and partnering with like-minded co-writers, and although some of their material can be described as genre-challenging, there is an indisputable country edge to everything they write, record and perform. Their bold and exciting rebellion against the “same song, different artist” approach to their career has them poised as trailblazers of a whole new sound.
The band’s album Faint of Heart is available now.
