The Jung Center presents Psyche and Art in the Swamplands.
Journey into the fantastical world of Accalia and the Swamp Monster – a modern day fairytale created by The Jung Center Gallery’s featured November artist, Kelli Scott Kelley.
Kelley’s art tells the story of heroine Accalia, her dysfunctional family, her encounters with the dark and magical Louisiana swamp, and her own personal growth.
Using the haunting words and images of this story as a backdrop, Jungian analyst Constance Romero will examine the healing power of storytelling and the psychic processes of the collective unconscious expressed in this fairytale and other stories and myths throughout history.
Kelli Scott Kelley, MFA, is Professor of Painting at Louisiana State University. She has exhibited and lectured throughout the U.S., and her work is featured in permanent collections at the Tyler Museum of Art in Texas, the LSU Museum of Art in Baton Rouge, and the Eugenia Summer Gallery in Columbus, Mississippi.
