Chapman Dance presents Models for Movement at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston on September 10, 2016 at 1:30PM.

Models for Movement is a multi-generational, reflective dance project developed in collaboration with Fonteno Senior Education Center, the University of Houston Dance Ensemble, and Chapman Dance, with the support of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. Movement themes for this preview performance are inspired by the work of artist Jae Ko and her current site-specific installation flow in CAMH’s Zilkha Gallery.

Over the past year, Teresa Chapman has been working with the UH Dance Ensemble and the seniors at FontenoSenior Education Center in Sharpstown on a series of balance workshops designed to enhance physical stability through creative movement.

This pop-up presentation will be presented in the form of a 15-minute dance performance prior to a lecture at 2PM presented by Glaciologist Kurt Cuffey. Jae Ko’s current exhibition provides the inspiration and exquisite backdrop for the first installment of Models for Movement.

This program is a performance in the gallery and no seating will be provided. If you would like special accommodations to be made, please contact [email protected].
