Michelle OMichael: Being at the Speed of Life

Nicole Longnecker Gallery presents Being at the Speed of Life featuring work from Michelle O’Michael.  The show runs from December 11, 2015 to January 9, 2016 and opens with a Special Friday Night Artist’s Reception Friday, December 11 from 5-8 pm.

Nicole Longnecker Gallery presents “Being at the Speed of Life” by Houston artist Michelle O’Michael in her inaugural exhibition at the gallery.

“Michelle’s twisting sculptures belie their physical weight and seem to float and soar,” said gallery owner Nicole Longnecker. “Her work bridges the physical world and the spiritual plane.”

Raised in west Texas’ big-sky oil country, Michelle O’Michael received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to her steel sculptures, she works in photography, graphic design, painting, ceramics, collage, the El Piñatero paper process and mixed media sculpture.

Her work is in many private and corporate collections, including public art pieces for El Centro College in Dallas, the Fire Station 6 in Frisco, Texas, Bailey’s Prime restaurants in Dallas, Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, TN and Norman, OK, Andrew Lanes Winery in the Napa Valley, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Dallas.
