The Jung Center presents Immeasurable Love: Buddhist Heart Practices.
Learn to open the heart and love more completely with the Four Abodes or Brahma Viaharas of the Buddhist tradition: Loving Kindness (Metta), Compassion (Karuna), Sympathetic Joy (Mudita), and Equanimity (Upekkha).
The Buddha taught these practices to his disciples and today they are used widely in Buddhist communities around the world to help bring serenity to all sentient beings.
In this lecture, students will learn the history and significance of these heart practices and their opposites, known as the near and far enemies. Students will also experience a guided meditation that they can repeat and practice on their own.
