Gilbert and Sullivan Sneak Preview of The Pirates of Penzance

Join McGonigel’s Mucky Duck and Houston’s Gilbert & Sullivan Society for a musical evening Sneak Preview featuring the cast of this summer’s G&S Society production of The Pirates of Penzance.

It’s an annual Houston tradition!  It’s a free, informal staging of The Pirates of Penzance at Houston’s best traditional British pub.  Expect great food, strong beer, and rousing sing-a-longs.

Join the entire cast as we perform the songs from the show with explanation, history, and anecdotes between songs by Alistair Donkin.

Come early, as this one of the biggest nights of the year for the Society and the Duck.

This comedic opera is the story of Frederic, a young man who has finished his apprenticeship to a band of noble pirates. When he is forced to choose between keeping his word and being with his newfound love Mabel, what will become of him? How will Mabel’s father, a Major-General, react when encountered by pirates?
