The 2014-2015 Eugene Howard Open Sourced Lecture Series is a series of talks/demonstrations featuring local “professors” sharing unconventional knowledge.
The series promotes and supports local people who are gradually becoming masters at what they do in a and presenting it to others in a low-pressure format. Ideally this is also an opportunity for lecturers to acquire any new skills that may come with a public presentation on a subject they are passionate about.
The events are intended to be casual, enjoyable, and informative.
This project hopes to target older Houstonians, ex-pats, underrepresented artists, and marginalized voices that redefine artistic practices.
*The series is named after and inspired by Eugene Howard or “Brother-in-Law”. This project was created to honor his entrepreneurial spirit, talent, and contributions to Third Ward and Project Row Houses.
This project is made possible by The Idea Fund.
