“Acid Circus” by Texas artist Christopher Mayo Mayes in his inaugural exhibition at Nicole Longnecker Gallery.
“I am so excited to return Christopher’s work back to the Houston market,” said gallery owner Nicole Longnecker. “His use of fragmented elements, intersecting planes, geometric anomalies mixed with a great sense of humor is really amazing. Don’t be distracted, Christopher is a serious artist who continues to push himself to produce great work.”
Christopher Mayo Mayes: Christopher Mayo Mayes is an enigmatic Texas artist whose parallel work in graphic design explains his use of symbols and iconography to populate his dense paintings and watercolors. He went to San Antonio College, where he was mentored by the late Chicano activist Mel Casas and learned the power of art to question cultural stereotypes.
Christopher then earned his BFA in Painting from the University of Texas School of Fine Arts. A winner of many graphic design awards, Christopher Mayo Mayes currently lives and creates in the Texas Hill country near Canyon Lake.
