CARE and UST departments come together to celebrate the International Day of the Woman by presenting He Named Me Malala, a documentary about Malala Yousazi.
Malala was the victim of an attempted assassination by the Taliban for her efforts to continue pursuing an education and making education accessible for girls. Her recovery and continued fight for education have made her a household name throughout the world, and she has become the recipient of numerous accolades and honors, including her record of being the youngest person ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize Award.
The documentary He Named Me Malala is a biography of her life and her continued efforts to fight for a girl’s right to education.
CARE is the world’s oldest international aid organization and advocates for foreign aid to the most marginalized in developing nations. CARE joins with the Center for International Studies, the Political Science Department, and the Department of Service Learning to host this event for the UST Community.
The event is free for all and is open to the public.
