McGonigel’s Mucky Duck presents Bob Schneider. TWO SHOWS!

At the core of Bob Schneider’s talent lies a versatile singer/songwriter. But Bob has too much to say and too much to play to be tied to the limits of that model. All of his many faces are revealed through his solo work and the bands that he fronts.

His fans have come to expect the unexpected from Bob Schneider but all of these bands give him free rein to explore the music that he loves funk, pop, bluegrass, jazz, soul, blues, hip-hop and good old-fashioned bar rock raunchy enough to make you flush, and emotional enough to choke you up…

Bob Schneider is a fixture on the Austin scene, having kicked around for years in various bands before embarking on a solo career. He dropped out of the University of Texas at El Paso to front his first band, the funk-and-rap outfit Joe Rockhead. His imaginative lyrics and amazing hooks keep coming through though, no matter what style he finds himself in.

His fellow Texans as well as his rabid U.S. fanbase will testify to his abilities, as he has become the most awarded singer songwriter in Austin’s history, winning over thirty Austin Music Awards. Bob Schneider has captured a loyal fanbase around the USA with his solid musicianship, lyrical storytelling, and impish onstage persona. His scruffy good looks and strong, husky voice provide a good complement to his semi-confessional songwriting.

After a terrifying plane crash left him uninterested in getting on planes, Bob chose to take a break from flying and focused on touring the United State an average of 200 days a year. However, Bob has announced he is flying again and plans on touring the world in 2008. When Bob is not making music or performing, he continues to create art through designing his own album art, packaging, posters, and T-shirts, while also showcasing his fine art at local galleries.

The real beauty of Schneider’s artistic career is about the freedom to constantly write, record and stockpile songs. While he’s already released hundreds of songs with his bands, Schneider estimates there were at least a thousand songs that didn’t fit his band’s concepts. Expect new music very soon…
