Bassoon Recital by Dr Brett Van Gansbeke

The University of St. Thomas presents a Bassoon Recital by Dr. Brett Van Gansbeke.

An active orchestral musician, Dr. Van Gansbeke served as contrabassoonist for the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and has also performed with ensembles such as the Louisville Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Bloomington Camerata Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra.

He is the creator and editor of the pedagogical resource The Orchestral Bassoon, and has also been published in the International Double Reed Society’s The Double Reed journal.

He holds a Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, a Master of Music degree from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Kentucky.

He has an extensive private studio and is a member of the music faculty at the University of St. Thomas.
