The UST Music Department presents A Concert of Works by Dr. Reynaldo Ochoa on November 17, 2016.
Featuring:
Marion Russell Dickson, soprano;
Richard Nunemaker, June Garrison, clarinets;
Kurt Johnson, violin;
Anthony Kitai, cello;
Shannon Hesse, piano
Several of Ochoa’s works have received both American and European Premiers. Notable commissions include a trumpet concerto for David Bilger, principal trumpet with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and a Brass Quintet for the Paragon Brass Ensemble. The Houston Symphony commissioned two compositions for their Sounds Like Fun concerts. “The Rainmaker’s Helper” received sixteen performances and was broadcast on KUHF.
A prolific composer, conductor and performer, Dr. Ochoa currently teaches trumpet at The University of St. Thomas.
