When the family business restoring building facades is sold, Nicola (Vincent Spano) and Andrea (Joaquim de Almeida) travel from Italy to America to seek their fortunes. They find it on the set of D. W. Griffith’s silent film Intolerance, but the beginning of World War I threatens to destroy their new-found success.
