Plot: Margherita is a short-tempered, self absorbed, angst-ridden director. She is working on a social-realist film about a factory strike starring Italian-American actor Barry Huggins as the factory owner.
Huggins consistently fails to deliver his lines properly and the shoot is exasperated by unhelpful advice from Margherita to her actors.
Try as she may to remain professional, Margherita is swept up in the emotional turmoil of moving out of her boyfriend’s apartment, dealing with a teenage daughter and a hospitalized mother.
Margherita’s inability to separate her private life from her work results in causing confusion all around her.
