St. John the Divine Episcopal Church invites you to a favorite community celebration, Christmas on the Boulevard! Saturday, December 16.
Begin your evening at 4:00 pm with a live Nativity featuring sheep, goats, a camel, and (of course) kids!
New this year is an interactive presentation of the story of Jesus’ birth. You will first be led into the stable by a Roman Centurion where you will meet the Holy Family and their new baby (hint: it’s a boy!). Next, witness a live angel choir provided by Westbury Christian School, and see the three wise men.
Live Nativity has guided tours will be offered at 4:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm, and 7:30pm. Between 5:00pm and 6:30pm, the Nativity will be open for self-guided journeys.
At 5:00 pm the musical magic begins! The St. John the Divine Chorale, Houston Boychoir, and River Oaks Chamber Orchestra offer a concert of seasonal favorites such as O Holy Night as well as selections from the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah.
While all families are encouraged to attend the concert, additional seating with a livestream of the concert is available on site with a children’s Christmas ornament craft and room to move around.
A festive reception follows the concert with live jazz and refreshments.
