Grace Pettis has already built a reputation as a respected songwriter among artists, industry, & fans. With stories in her soul, a dash of courage, and a smile that melts walls, Grace Pettis is busy doing what she was born to do. The life of an independent touring artist is tough, but somehow she makes it look easy. In her short career, she has built a reputation as a respected songwriter among artists, industry, and fans.

She is resigned and resilient, vulnerable and strong. Rising roots star Amy McCarley (pictured) is not exactly — and yet, every last thing — you might expect of a talented singer songwriter.

No Depression called her voice “a nuanced instrument best paired with a strong lyrical hook.” And boy, can she write one. Take “Fools Lament,” for example, with verses that wind their way expertly toward a simple, brilliant chorus, “There ain’t no way to change fake to real.”

There is nothing fake about McCarley, whose voice and vibe delivers the goods from the stage as well as the studio.

Kevin Gordon is a Louisiana native whose latest release, Gloryland, earned critical raves from the NY Times, Rolling Stone, USA Today, and others.

His songs have been recorded by Keith Richards, Levon Helm, Irma Thomas, & most recently, Hard Working Americans. The title track from his Down to the Well CD, a duet w/Lucinda Williams, was featured on the Oxford American Southern Music Sampler.

These two artists, with their distinct and unique sounds seem to have drunk from the same musical well…somewhere in the Austin, New Orleans, Nashville musical triangle. Their combined efforts on stage are intricate and intelligent but with an easy and deep groove.
