Da Camera of Houston and The Menil Collection present another Stop, Look and Listen! Family Concert.

Saturday, October 8: Celebrating the Roots of Jazz.

Enjoy an afternoon of traditional jazz by Boomtown Brass (pictured) on the East Lawn of the Menil Collection.

Boomtown Brass Band is the only dedicated trad jazz ensemble in Houston, specializing in New Orleans style hot Dixieland jazz. Boomtown performs most frequently as a six-piece instrumental ensemble, featuring guitar, banjo, and horns, but they have been known to appear with more or fewer players and varied instrumentation, and as many as two banjos playing simultaneously, which is almost unheard of.

Stop, Look and Listen! is a series of free chamber music and jazz concerts presented in one of Houston’s most inspiring and stimulating environments, the world-renowned Menil Collection. These museum concerts feature unconventional, interactive concert formats and fun, adventurous musical selections. The programs are often designed to celebrate specific artwork on display in the museum.

Free parking in the Menil Collection’s lot on West Alabama between Mandell and Mulberry.
