A.D. Players presents Smoke on the Mountain, the runaway hit that spawned two sequels, Sanders Family Christmas and Mount Pleasant Homecoming. Written by Connie Ray. Conceived by Alan Bailey.Running August 24-September 25.
The original returns to take you back to the end of the Great Depression, where the Sanders Family Singers have stopped at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church to perform their traveling gospel show.
During the show, the audience members will serve as the church congregation as the family reveals its story.
With more than 30 bluegrass gospel tunes, from the popular (“Amazing Grace,” “I’ll Fly Away”) to the obscure (“Filling Station,” “Christian Cowboy”), this show is sure to set your spirit soaring.
