Anderson Fair presents Grant Peeples.
Known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes as well as Roger Miller type humor and heart gigging ballads, Grant Peeples latest release, “Punishing the Myth”, debuted at #1 on the Freeform American Roots chart.
Music News Nashville dubbed him, “a guitar-slinging poet.” No Depression described his voice, “like a ’57 Chevy with glass mufflers…” Routes & Branches deemed his songs, “smart, strong lyrics that mean something and say it in a way you haven’t heard before.”
Of himself he says, “I’m a vegetarian that watches NASCAR, a tree-hugger that keeps a gun under the seat.”
John Conquest of 3rd Coast Music has named him songwriter of the year multiple times and says, “Unusually literate, unusually honest, Grant Peeples is the only songwriter I’ve ever called ruthless.”
Peeples is a 2014 recipient of the Chengzhong Focus Foundation Award for Creative Excellence. The Foundation cited, “the humor compassion and wisdom of his songs”, as well as, “unflinching social insight and cultural acuity.”
