Charlie Kitchen: New Work

BLUEorange Contemporary is pleased to present New Work, a show of the most recent photography and sculpture by San Antonio based artist, Charlie Kitchen. Join us for the opening reception on April 22nd, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. On view April 22 – May 27, 2016.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Inhabiting a space between photography, sculpture, and printmaking, my practice serves as an examination of the inherent qualities of photographic imagery. Through a combination of digital and analog processes, I mask, matte, and overlay photographs to isolate and emphasize qualities of visual depth and color within the photographic image plane.

 This approach allows me to examine photography from the perspective of other mediums and will eventually lead me to a more objective and profound understanding of the medium itself.
