Bea Ying Projects presents Fools. Venue: Tomo Mags, 1206 Hawthorne St.
“Fools” is an exhibition featuring local artists Yash Naik, Liam Shaw, Jenaro Goode, Rowan Liebrum, Brandon Mahler. This group of friends under 23 display the playful, rebel hearted spirit of the male-youth in Houston. Media used to explore this feeling are: photography, mixed media collage and oil painting.
A unique line of clothing by Liam Shaw and Rowan Liebrum will be released under the name Kipling Dunlvay and a zine comprised of all the work in the show will be available for purchase.
Starting out in renovated food truck, Tomo Mags launched as a roaming magazine shop in 2015. Tomo provides access to hard to find magazines published on the local to national level. They have now opened a small studio in Montrose that sells magazines, stationery, art and locally made crafts. Lomi Coffee also serves during open hours. The studio sits one street behind bustling Westheimer traffic, and is the perfectly quaint Montrose spot for art exhibitions.
Enjoy complimentary beverages from Karbach, as well as a selection of music from the mid and late nineties played by local DJ Fat Tony. Attendees are invited to meet the artists, shop Tomo, grab free coffee from Lomi (limited supply) and purchase work from the unique collection.
Event organized and art curated by Bea Ying Projects.
