The University of St. Thomas Center for International Studies Distinguished Diplomat Program presents Syria: Russia, ISIL and the Prospect for Talks.

FEATURING:
Dr. Joshua Landis
Director of the Center for Middle East Studies and Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma’s College of International Studies

Dr. Landis, who writes “Syria Comment,” a daily newsletter on Syrian politics that attracts over 100,000 readers a month, will speak about Syria: Russia, ISIL and the prospect for talks.

Landis travels frequently to Washington, D.C. to consult with government agencies and speak at think tanks. Most recently, he has spoken at the Woodrow Wilson Institute, Brookings Institute, USIP, Middle East Institute, and Council on Foreign Relations.

Dr. Landis serves on the faculty of the Univ. of Oklahoma, where he was named best teacher, has helped raise over one million dollars for a new chair in Iranian studies, and brought the government funded Arabic Flagship Program to OU.

Three Fulbright grants, the SSRC and other awards have supported his research on Syria.
