The Dirty Seeds (pictured, Houston, TX)

The Dirty Seeds. No gimmicks, just four strangers gathered together by an ape-like stoner prophet from the future to save humanity with loud rock n roll. Face melting stoner rock with enough of a groove to trick white people into thinking they know how to dance.

Serial Hawk (Seattle)

Serial Hawk will knock you on your ass, but they don’t strike quickly. Their crushing blows are slow and purposeful, like the booby trap in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, where Indiana and Short Round are nearly bludgeoned with those giant, skull-covered spikes (that is, until Willie reaches into that disgusting bug hole to pull the release lever—gross). The riffs are heavy, the tempo is magmatic, and each beat lingers in the air for just a tiny moment longer than expected, taunting you. It’ll be a perfect follow-up to Monogamy Party’s wiry, hyperactive thrashing. And in case you missed the great news, the Highline has brought back its food service, so get to the show early, fill your belly with all the vegan grub you can eat, and headbang till you puke!” —MEGAN SELING, (The Stranger, Line Out)

Destroyer of Light (Austin, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/destroyeroflight

Formed in 2012 from constantly boiling musical cauldron that is Austin, TX, Destroyer of Light has taken a straight forward approach to tempering the disparate and harmonious parts of their influences into a total sum of slow motion tidal heaviness that bows to no altar but that of the riff.

With the smoky flavors of hazed out doom and the stomping cadence of rock’s heyday, the band both tickles and deafens the ears with the theatrical flashes of Mercyful Fate, the ominous tones of Electric Wizard, and the ferociously feral feedback of a Sleep dirge. Having released a self-titled EP and a live recording, Destroyer of Light hit the road and spread their interpretation of the heavy gospel all across the U.S. before hitting the studio in late 2013 to record their newest EP, entitled ‘Bizarre Tales Vol.2’.

Released in January 2014, this sophomore effort was called “The perfect sludge/stoner/doommetal album for Halloween” by The Sludgelord, this most current release has taken Destroyer of Light to new towns and cities along the road they call good times and the love of music. As the fall of 2014 approaches, the band will be on tour throughout October and November in the midst of writing new material for their third recording.

Project Armageddon (Houston, TX)

“From what I’ve heard…solid rockin material that will stand the test of time.” – Chris Barnes – Hellride Music

“Project Armageddon isn’t afraid to rattle the bars of metal. They freely experiment with forms and styles, crafting unforgettable pieces that grip a listener with an iron first.” – Jef Rouner – Houston Press

“I don’t know if you can even listen to other metal acts without comparing them to the inventive and rhythmic changes of this Houston 3 piece. Whenever I hear The Sword, who I love, I always feel like they’re just covering Project Armageddon” – David Garrick – Free Press Houston

“Project Armageddon found the heavy metal time machine…this guitar sound will recall classic Black Sabbath and big-riff doom-stoner sounds. You wanted the doom, you’ve got the doom!” – Metal Bulletin Zine
