Cast your eyes to the moonlit sky and get your dancing shoes ready. Rothko Chapel is hosting its annual fundraiser event, Moonrise Party on the Plaza. Saturday, October 24.
“The moon looks upon many night flowers; the night flowers see but one moon.” – Jean Ingelow
Let the moon’s mysterious glow guide you to the Rothko Chapel Plaza for another remarkable night. Under that moon ice will clink, corks will pop, laughter will fall and rise and live Brazilian music will keep you swaying until the wee hours.
Savor Brazilian inspired comida or lounge with friends by Barnett Newman’s majestic Broken Obelisk and admire its silvery shadows dancing across the pool.
Won’t you join us on October 24 for another great night at Moonrise Party on the Plaza?
For many visitors, the Rothko Chapel is part of a spiritual pilgrimage characterized by a meditative conversation about life’s deepest meanings in the company of the murals painted by Mark Rothko. For others, the Chapel is about the healing process allowing for renewed health and wellness during times of great stress and challenge.
Throughout the year, the Rothko Chapel community engages the most pressing human rights issues of the day in the spirit of the founders—Dominique and John de Menil—who knew well that direct action is the antidote to despair and complacency.
It is through the generous support from individuals like you that the Rothko Chapel can be the spiritually-centered place for people from all walks of life that inspires hope, new possibilities for living, and engagement in the issues of the day that really matter.
In support of this critical mission, we ask you to consider supporting Moonrise Party on the Plaza. Your gifts allow us to open our doors every day of the year at no charge and to offer quality programming including ongoing meditations and events exploring the contemporary meaning of life through the convergence of art, spirituality, and human rights.
