“Holy God in Tifa’s 7th Heaven, have you heard this girl? It’s like Nina Hagen was fronting the Legendary Pink Dots! She’s got a voice like a living orgasm that just pounds right out of a wall of psychedelic rock until you fall on the floor like the heroin just kicked in. No wonder she’s up for a Best Female Vocal award this year. ” – Jef With One F – Houston Press: Rocks Off 100

“Casual Strangers are something of an enigma – continually toying with music genres of varying nature, one never knows quite what to expect from this experimental tour de force. Rather than scripting out the precise why’s and how’s, the band lets loose their creative energy to present a raw and independent performance.
Throughout their set, Casual Strangers moved from extended psychedelic solos to avant garde spoken word, interwoven with shoegaze reverb. Waclawsky and Gunn’s expressive and relentlessly engaging stage presence coupled with their subtle interactions and male/female vocals compelled the audience to be present with them. Mitchell’s bombastic drumming served as the steady backhand beat to their songs, and synth-player Davidson looked caught in a wonderfully surreal and dream-like trance.” Trish Connelly

“Saying that MyTwilightPilot write songs is kind of like saying that Homer wrote a poem….” – Devon Powers – Pop Matters
“From peaks and valleys, to the eye of the storm, the songs on MyTwilightPilot’s debut, the 555 EP (named after a cult in their hometown of Houston, TX), captures the imagination and keeps you involved from start to finish. Through melodic implications and soaring guitars, to the windstorm rhythm section crashing down on you.
MyTwilightPilot makes you feel like you’re falling from an airplane, without a parachute, and for some reason you know everything is going to be OK because the trip is too enjoyable not to end with happy results. Their high-octane, fuel-burning gas engine kicks your ass time and time throughout the 555 EP, which lasts over thirty minutes (and only four songs). It’s a long EP that could pass for a full-length, but doesn’t.
Houston’s MyTwilightPilot revel in sounds, but somehow they don’t come off sounding like they’re basking in excess, a tough job for anyone, especially a band that has only been together a little over a year. I’ll give this an A–.” – Alex Steininger – In Music We Trust
