Race to the Moon draws on its punk and indie rock influences to create driving, sophisticated music. Four recent transplants to Houston joined forces with a shared love of Wilco, Dinosaur Jr., and high energy live performances to create a charging rock band. RTTM started its journey in June 2012 and is gaining steam, bringing rock energy and dynamic songwriting into the local Houston scene.

This band was originally created Oct 2013 from the great minds of Matthew F. and Rick R. in a “Wings N Things” parking lot inspired by the sounds of Pedro The Lion, Dinosaur Jr., and Morrisey. After months passing, members lying, and perspectives changing, we as a band have built a great foundation amongst friends and music. We continue to strive closer to what we think this band should “sound” like.

Whatever, we just like playing music. Four local Houstonians looking to build relationships in the scene, play great shows, and just have fun while doing it all.
