The Houston yoga community will celebrate the Tenth Annual Houston Free Day of Yoga this Labor Day, Monday September 7, 2015. Festivities will again be held at the Rothko Chapel Lawn near Menil Park in Houston and are hosted by the Texas Yoga Association.

From sunrise to sunset, participating studios across the state will offer free classes as a way for people of every age and every fitness level to try yoga for the first time, experience a new style of yoga or share yoga with family and friends. If you have an offering, make sure you register it today and get the word out about Free Day!

Come celebrate all that we are and do as a labor of love. Let us celebrate our courage, strength, gentleness and sweetness, … our love of living and of life itself. We will weave together our thoughts and intentions, prayers and blessings, hopes and dreams – for ourselves, family, friends, and community. Celebrate ALL beings everywhere with this sweet labor of love.

This year’s event features music by AREXPRESSIONS. PLUS a yummy community yoga class on the lawn and campus of Rothko Chapel.

BIG Yoga Kids will have a children’s celebration as part of our programming at 8:30 a.m. Some of your favorite teachers from all over Houston are participating!

Stay tuned for more participating studios, vendors and the AWEsome 2015 teacher line-up. You can recommend your favorite teacher at [email protected]  today!

Be sure to check back often for the lineup of free classes!

Since the event’s inception in 2005, thousands of students have joined in the Houston Free Day of Yoga to experience the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental benefits of practicing yoga. Free classes have been offered at over 50 participating studios in communities reaching from the Woodlands to Downtown, Katy to Galveston, from Sugarland to Champions Forrest and all points in between.
