Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) presents a Watercolor Demo: ‘The Value of Values.’
One of the wonderful WAS-H teachers, Carla Gauthier, will be the demo artist at the September general membership meeting on Sunday, September 13.
Carla is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and an elite signature member of WAS-H.
“When great painting ideas seem to fizzle before the artwork is finished, muddled middle values are often to blame,” Carla says. “Successful paintings take advantage of a full range of values – from the white of the paper through glowing middle values to rich, velvety darks.”
Starting with the inception of your subject idea through planning and executing your painting to critiquing your finished product, Carla will cover ways of illuminating lights and deepening darks. Come join us to see what steps you can take to become a master of value!
