Forming in the spring of 2014 in Lafayette, La, SEVERER set out to transcend genres ranging between blackened doom to ambient gloom-gaze.

Formed in October of 2012 with friends Oscar, Henry and Luis. Tony practiced in the same studio as the three when the band was formally known as Kamikal and decided to join. While the four already had a lead guitar player, they needed a rhythm guitarist. Nelson was a co-worker of Oscar’s working in the same tattoo shop as he and was recruited shortly after. The lead guitarist, Henry, for personal reasons, left the band taking with him the name. A few months passed and the name was changed to CALACAS.
