A TRIBUTE TO FINA TORRES
QFest and Senorita Cinema will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to acclaimed Venezuelan director Fina Torres, whose career began in 1985 with ORIANA, winner of the Camera dâOr at the 1985 Cannes Film Festival. Ten years after her auspicious debut, she directed 1995âs CELESTIAL CLOCKWORK, an international hit that led to her biggest and best known film, 2000âs English-language WOMAN ON TOP, starring Penelope Cruz.
After the award ceremony, QFest will present Ms. Torresâ newest film, LIZ IN SEPTEMBER, based on Jane Chambersâ play Last Summer at Bluefish Cove, in which a strong willed woman resolves to face her imminent death without sentiment, only to find herself falling in love.

Eva (Eloisa Maturen), a married woman who finds herself stranded at the resort after her car breaks down, is warily accepted by the women, and Lizâs friends soon dare her to seduce Eva.
Eva harbors her own tragic secret, and what begins for Liz as a potential conquest becomes something neither woman anticipated.
Based on Jane Chambersâ classic novel, Last Summer at Bluefish Cove.
