Montrose is 8,000 lbs Lighter!
We collected 8,000 pounds of waste at the District’s free public recycling day last weekend at HEB’s Montrose Market! About 3,000 lbs in paper and documents and 5,000 lbs of electronic and computer parts will be recycled safely and environmentally-friendly thanks to the over 75 Houstonians who came out and supported their community going green. Compucycle will also be making a donation [thanks to the electronics dropped off] to the What IF ™ campaign benefiting Easter Seals. The What IF ™ campaign is an initiative that works with individuals living with disabilities to help them find and keep employment.
“The Montrose Management District team is excited by the success of this event,” said Montrose Management District’s Executive Director. “We are continually striving to serve the community within our district, and Houston as a whole, by maintaining and improving quality of life. The fact that we also benefit a great cause such as the What IF ™ campaign makes it even better.” Big props to HEB, Tradition Bank, the City of Houston Solid Waste division, CompuCyle and Recycle Bank who all partnered with the District to make this event a huge success. And to the students from Saint Thomas University and other volunteers who helped with event logistics and were tasked with unloading vehicles and traffic control.

Improving the quality of life in the historic Montrose area is one of several focuses of the District. The Montrose Management District encompasses 250 acres of land within Houston. The Board of Directors follows a service assessment plan to meet the needs of the District.
