Local organizers led by Jared Maidenberg, are throwing their own Food Revolution on Saturday in support of celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution project. The event ‘is about connecting with your community through events at schools, restaurants, local businesses, dinner parties and farmers’ markets. The event begins at the Eastside Farmer’s Market run by Urban Havest with tours and special guest talks from 9 am-12 noon. You can meet your local farmers and chefs who grow and create fresh, locally sourced, nutritious meals. And be a part of the discussions t0 provide Houstonians with fresher, higher quality foods and the current ‘Food Crisis’ organizers refer to as the S.A.D., Sad American Diet.
Transform your farmer’s market bounty and join the crew at Mandell Park in Montrose for a pot luck and ‘Real Food Fiesta’ from 6-10 pm, open to everyone.
